Semantic Urban Elements: Linking Urban Analytics, Design, and Usage for Cyber-Physical Cities

> Chenyi Cai presented two works at CAADRIA 2024

- Her work titled "A Text-Image Integrated Case-based Search Engine in Architecture Using Self-organizing Maps"

- A collaboration paper with Southeast University (SEU), China, titled "Exploring Nonlinear Relationship Between Built Environment And Street Vitality Using Machine Learning"

Dense and Green Cities

- DEN paper titled '"Improving district-scale outdoor thermal comfort: insights from leveraging sky view factor analysis in one-north, Singapore", submitted to Technology | Architecture + Design journal is currently under the final review stages with minor revisions.

- DEN teams are working on the oral and poster presentations for the WCS event

- DEN - ACP collaboration research paper got accepted for the upcoming Space Syntax Conference.

-Thomas will be a jury member for the international Daejeon Arts Park design competition, organized by the Daejeon Metropolitan Government, South Korea. Invited participants include Kengo Kuma & Associates, UNStudio, and Zaha Hadid Architects.

Agropolitan Territories of Monsoon Asia

Joshua, Denise and Helen gave a presentation of urscape and our research to visiting students from University of St. Gallen on Tuesday, 23 April. Evi gave a short presentation of AGR's work to a visiting delegate led by the Chinese Minister of Education, Huai Jinpeng.

Adaptive Mobility, Land Use and Infrastructure

- Our PhD student Arnór Bragi Elvarsson, doctoral student at Prof. Bryan Adey’s Chair of Infrastructure Management, is presenting at the Urban Research Seminar on April 17, 2024 at ETH Zürich, Hönggerberg. His presentation is titled, “Mapping, reviewing and improving the planning process for transport infrastructure in Canton Zürich”.

- PI Assis Prof Prateek Bansal was invited to LTA to give a presentation and discussion on the data fusion techniques to LTA and URA officials.

- Research activties are proceeding smoothly: adaptive planning literature review, EV charging infrastructure planning literature review, proof-of-concept paper, responsive plannning reports are all approaching to the submitting phase.

The Sea-​City Interface

1. The team attened the CAADRIA conference with Prof. Rudi Stouffs chaired the session of ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE & MACHINE LEARNING IN URBAN PLANNING & DESIGN

2. Pengyuan gave a talk in a Chinese GIS sharing session on 21st April on the topic "Human-centred GeoAI in Urban Geography "

3. Shuyang outreached with Tongji University, China during the CAADRIA conference and Pengyuan will give a presentation to the team from Tongji on Friday.

Comparative Ecology of Cities

CEC is going to hold a project workshop on 16-17 May. The team is currently preparing for it.

Future Cities Laboratory Global

The FCL Global Exhibition at URA Centre is confirmed. It will be held in two parts, 1-16 June and 1 - 31 July. We may need the modules to be ready to assist with the events and will be reaching out to the teams.
