Dear FCL Global community,
Happy New Year! We hope that everyone enjoyed some rest and time to recharge over the holiday season.
We are grateful for everyone's continued collaboration, co-creation, and co-production over the past five years of the FCL Global programme. Together, these efforts have yielded substantial contributions to the global scientific community. Crucially, they have also advanced the translation of urban science into real-world impact, with strong collaborations leading to the testing and deployment of diverse technologies, including materials, software tools, and design strategies, across cities and regions.
We are currently working with the NRF on a comprehensive final review of the FCL Global programme, led by our Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC). FCL Global Leadership has begun engaging module PIs and coordinators on the immediate next steps for this process.
Documenting the achievements of FCL Global is an urgent and important step as we wrap up the current phase of FCL. This review will also play a critical role in the transition to FCL IV. FCL Global research has created important translation pathways for the emerging field of urban science, and representing everyone's contribution helps present a fuller picture of our programme’s impact and relevance in Singapore, Switzerland, and beyond.
In the coming months, we will be transitioning the FCL newsletter to a biweekly cadence, allowing more time for module updates. FCL Global Communications will continue to support the community in sharing stories of research impact. Researchers seeking communications support can reach out to us at fclcommunications@sec.ethz.ch.
We look forward to working with everyone as we move through the review process. Many thanks for your continued support.
