Dear FCL Global Community,
It was great to see many of you at the FCL IV Singapore Agency Workshop last week, which was organised in partnership with the NRF at CREATE Campus in Singapore. The event also included project investigators who are new to FCL, as well as representatives from several Singapore government agencies, in conversation to shape how the proposed projects can complement agency initiatives and lead to the identification of strategic implementation pathways from science towards practice.
The lively and engaged discussion cultivated trust and shared understanding between researchers and decision-makers, underscoring the vital role of science-policy feedback loops for advancing urban science and governance practice. This also demonstrates the continued role of the Future Cities Laboratory towards building Singapore as a global hub and living lab for urban solutions. You may read more about the event on our website.
Last week also saw the ETH evaluation of the Singapore-ETH Centre, with the Singapore location being visited by the ETH VP for Research Prof. Dr. Annette Oxenius, Dr Annette Brockerhoff from the Grants Office, and external evaluators (Prof Dr Carlo Ratti from MIT, Prof Dr Michael Nilsson from the University of Newcastle Australia, and Prof Dr Stephen Wilson of the Botnar Institute of Immune Engineering in Basel). The evaluation was a great opportunity for FCL Global researchers to share more about the programme's scientific and translational impact over the past five years.
We thank everyone for their participation.
